Rules:

1. Respect others.

In kindergarten we will be helpful, encouraging, and treat others kindly. We will listen and follow directions from our teachers and other members of the school staff.

2. Respect yourself.

In kindergarten we will do our best while learning and working.
We will keep ourselves safe from harm.

3. Respect property.
In kindergarten we will take care of materials and property that belong to the school and others.

Guidelines:

1. Guidelines are expectations during our school day for daily procedures.

2. We will have guidelines for “how to line up,” “how to sit at the carpet,” “what to do if your pencil breaks,” etc.

 Consequences:

1. If a kindergartner happens to forget one of our rules or guidelines, I will re-teach the behavior.

2. The kindergartner will practice the correct behavior with me on his/her valued time. (i.e. recess)

3. This will continue as often as needed until the behavior is changed.

**Changing inappropriate behaviors is our goal.

Punishment will not change behaviors; re-teaching behaviors will change behaviors.

We will always have rewards for good choices.

These rewards could be a smile, a compliment, a note home, or some type of surprise.
